What brought you to the construction industry and what made you stay?

My dad and grandfather were both tradesmen. There really was no other plan after high school. Carpentry was always where I saw myself. I stayed because it is a good way to make a living wage and have healthcare for my family. This job keeps me on my toes and is always changing.

What is your favorite project you have worked on and why?

My favorite project to date was One Cardinal Way at Ballpark Village. It was a fun atmosphere around the job and we had a great crew there. It was also interesting to be a part of such a high-profile job and one that was so well known in St. Louis.

What hobbies do you have outside of work?

I enjoy spending my time outdoors – hunting, fishing, and barbecuing. Traveling is also a big love of mine.

Which of TJ Wies’ Core Values resonates with you most?

My top core value is fun on the jobsite. A good morale is good for everyone.

What is your favorite aspect of the job?

I have made really good friends with my coworkers on the jobsites. We have a good camaraderie, and it helps the day go by faster. I consider the guys on my job my family.

Why do you like working at TJ Wies?

This company has given me a lot of opportunities to grow from an apprentice all the way to a general foreman. The projects that I do are challenging and I enjoy that. The biggest reason I enjoy working at TJ Wies is the people; everyone from the office all the way down to the field.
